'Cheakamus September'

This painting was created using reference photos taken

while on a recent plein air painting adventure up near

Whistler BC. I really had a lot of fun with this piece and

really got it goin' with the water. Unfortunately this

photo doesn't really show all the juicy brush work

so another will have to be taken!

Oil on canvas 30 x 36.

'September on the Cheakamus'

Finally had a chance for a quick visit up

to Whistler last week to see my oldest son.

Fortunately the weather was nice on the

way up so we stopped for lunch and a paint

out. The Cheakamus River is a beautiful piece

of water as it tumbles down from the high country.

This spot was easily accessible for us and I

took quite a few reference photo's as well for

some future large canvases.

Oil on wood panel 12 x 9.
