One of the paintings from a recent trip into
the southern interior. This lake is at about
1500 meters or so but it was cooking hot. The
lake however was still mostly iced in.
It felt kinda strange standing there in the heat
painting with the ice still in and Swallows
in the air around us.

Both of these pieces are beautiful! I love your color choices and always enjoy seeing your expressive brush work. May I ask what kind of wood panels you are painting on? Are they primed with gesso before you begin painting?
Hi Rebecca and thanks for your comment. I'm using Mahogany Plywood with a burnt sienna oil ground no gesso...

Hi there Jeffrey!... I love the warmth and deep sense of paece and tranquility that you have captured in this painting!
Strange... isn't it how cold and warm can coexist in the same setting? Works well with colour too... it seems! HA HA!!!
Have a great day!
Good Painting!
Warmest reghards,
Bruce
Hey Bruce thanks...it was an amazing couple of hours in a very different environment from my usual. As well, as we stood there painting, in the heat, it was very still and quiet with many Tree Swallows in the air.

I really like your use of thick gestural strokes of paint in this work. it creates such a lively impression of the scene.
Hey Gideon, thanks for the comment and the visit!
