Muir Creek, **SOLD**

Canadian west coast Impressionism, Sooke BC, plein air oil painting of Vancouver Island

There is a beautiful spot about a 45 minute drive
NW of Victoria where the mouth of Muir Creek meets
the Juan de Fuca strait. When the tide is right there is
a wonderful stretch of West Coast beach that goes
on and on, at one point you will come to clay cliffs
that are full of marine fossils.
River otters were feeding in the creek while I was
painting this piece.
Oil on wood panel 9 x 12.
Your comments are always appreciated!

I love the Mount Tuam painting Jeffrey! It's always a pleasure to a see a new painting pop up in my blog feed :-) Viewing your paintings does me as much good as going for a walk outside in beautiful spot.

I wish I was there right now. I was immediately drawn to the beautiful blues in this. It's relaxing to look at.

Thanks so much SongNote!

There is nothing quite like a walk in nature to clear our minds and to reacquaint ourselves with gravity...=;-))

Hey, thanks Karen!

It was a "blue-tiful" day indeed!! I sometimes think that I need to be careful about my use of blue?

That's funny...I say the same thing about my use of pink! But I never ever think twice about your use of blue.

It seems as though there is a kind of portal that opens into your landscapes when I view them. You've become such a master at capturing atmosphere and sense of place. Both the Mount Tuam painting and Muir Creek are just wonderful.

Keep the blues comin', but stay happy!

Beautiful painting - you've captured the feeling of that spot perfectly. We've explored that area many times.
