Summer Wind-Swan Lake

Painted at the Swan Lake Nature Preserve with a
group of outsiders last Friday. This wonderful natural
peat bog with its shallow lake and marshy verges is
a year round avian magnet in our area.
We enjoyed a wonderful morning, though it did get
a bit windy. I was able to set up out of the wind, and
as luck would have it, right beside a fully blossomed
Mock Orange tree (one of my favourite scented blooms)!
Red-winged blackbirds kept up a steady chorus while
we painted. The numb fingers of winter plein air
excursions are but distant memories now!
Oil on wood panel 11 x 14.
Comments are always enjoyed!
