'South of Sombrio', **SOLD**

(Canadian west coast Impressionism, French Beach, Sombrio Beach, paintings of Vancouver Island)

This is one of the larger pieces I have been
working on lately. Another view of French Beach which
is one of the several well known beaches that line
the coast of Vancouver Island northwest of Victoria.
One of the things that make a stone or pebble beach so
wonderful is the almost musical rattle and
clatter that happens as the waves recede from
the beach causing the stones to roll and tumble hitting
against one another. As well, you don't get
any sand in your shoes!! =;-))
(My apologies for the quality of this photo. I will try
again when this one is drier.)
Oil on canvas
30 x 40.
Your thoughts and comments always appreciated!

Jeffrey, you've captured a west coast grey day at the ocean's edge beautifully and your waves are incredible! I like that there is the hope of a bit of sun coming through in the sky, too. (Love the one above, too.)

Hi Jeffrey,

I can hear the waves gently lapping up on the shoreline. This is so well done. The perspective and sense of distance are amazing, too.

Jeffrey:
This is a wonderful work. The view down the beach, the ocean waves... well done.

It reminds me of the Washington coast near La Push.

I really like the mountains in the background. And, just the right amount of sky holes in the tree.

Thanks Pam!

For me the entrance into this painting and the color of that water are the most spectaular parts of it...I'm just sort of esmerized by those trees that take me in!

Thanks Karen...that drift wood is a subject all on its own. I had to really work to keep it simple.
