'Last Light-Cusheon Lake'

 'Dragons & Kingfishers'

There is an island
that lies in the Salish Sea
In early September it calls to me
The Kingfishers fly their halcyon displays
Red dragons are tap tap tapping
their new life away
The grasshopper afternoon's heat
goes with me as I slide
into the lakes liquid velvet dive
Once again
it is all clear to me

This was painted one evening very quickly
just as the sun was setting behind
those hills to the left.
It was pretty much dark while I was cleaning up.

Good morning Jeffrey!... Sometimes the greatest gifts and pleasures appear quickly... and briefly in life.

It's all about immersing our Selves in that precious velvet right in the moment... before it fades away.

Your beautiful painting... "run-for-the-sun" sketch and words fully encapsulate your experience and joy... for the sharing! Thank you!

Good painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
