'Samhain Afternoon'

'Samhain Afternoon'
oil on wood panel
6 x 8

~~~~~~~
Since the ancients walked the earth
we celebrate this time
halfway between the summer and winter solstice...
"May the energies be reversed:
From darkness, light!
From bane, good!
From death, birth!
"
(an excerpt from an ancient Samhain chant)
This piece was painted on the ancient shores
of Thetis Cove during the afternoon of
Samhain several weeks ago now.
Hi there Jeffrey!... It is obvious from the spirit evoked from the "ancients" by you in this painting... that you are as respectfully in touch with their sacred space as they were.
Oh... that more folks could feel the spirit of the land... and respect it!
Another gem!
Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
Thanks so much Bruce...sadly at this time as in many ways the past it is a race to the bottom of a hole so deep and dark all the money you can possible carry won't get your head back above the rim. Caring and respect for the Mother of us all is at this point purely survival in the most simplest of terms. Protect her she's all we have...
Sincerely,
Jeffrey
Hi Jeffrey - I do have faith that the earth will be fine. It is we humans who are creating a difficult future for our grandchildren.
Great painting - lots of joyous movement in this one.
