'Low Tide at Moonrise'

Another in my nocturne series.
I'm really having some fun with them.
It feels something like swimming
in a new lake.

Good morning Jeffrey!... Your choice of a cool palette for your nocturne conveys that very memorable and uplifting impression conjured up through the experience of swimming in a new lake!

Triggered memories for me of morning and evening swims after a long day of paddling in Lake Temagami and environs... ever so long ago.

Refreshing and uplifting too... Were the very special words that you left at my recent blog post!

Thank you again!

Good painting... day or night!
Warmest regards,
Bruce

lovely colour choices, reminds me of nights sitting down by the edge of the lake watching stars

This is a wonderful painting, has a look of a Van Gogh with all the swirling brushwork and life that comes from it. Those are the colour of the night!

Great impressionistic style, Jeffrey. I love your choice of colours. I struggle with nocturnes a bit because I love colour and and find it hard to work with dark values and greys. You have certainly solved that here with your palette of cool blues.

Hey Judith,

Thanks very much for your comment. After doing about four nocturnes in a row I started to worry what my next daylight painting would look like...but the light returns as does the night...
