'Highrock Rhythms'

'Highrock Rhythms' oil on canvas 30 x 40

This painting was inspired by an earlier plein air piece

that was sold a couple of years ago. I enlarged the

format and changed the season among other things.

I have included an image of the original below

for comparison. Naturally the huge size deferential

may be hard to imagine in this posting.

Another session up on Highrock with the clouds. An early

start allowed time for two paintings this trip. Course it

helped that the clouds continued to perform. Fortunately

the roving bands of showers didn't show up until I was

back in the studio...ooo nice =;-))

(I'll post the second one next time.)

Below I included a photo to give a bit of and idea

what it looked like as I was setting up.

A stellar day for plein air painting today and I

was able to take advantage of it! Another one

from my park and in finding this spot I saw many

more painting sites to come...stay tuned.

Highrock Moss

We have been having "Inversion Layer" weather

here in Victoria that leaves us mostly in the fog until

afternoon if were lucky. I ran out yesterday afternoon

when it broke up, to that little park I've been painting.

There are amazing rock formations on the hill there,

all smoothed by glacial activity and large areas

covered in lovely moss which is featured in this

plein air piece. This is painting #9 from this

park, only 91 to go!
