Winter Oak

Bright afternoon sunlight on a snowy oak meadow
is always a dazzling sight. The subtle shades
of colour seem so much more vivid. It
is sometimes difficult to keep ones
palette under control.
Oil on board 6 x 6.

Aaaaargh! Snow! Begone! Go up Mt. Washington where they need it and where I can ski on it! Where I don't have to shovel it...

Still, lovely to drop by after a bit of an absence and see it in your paintings.

My eye is just led in a flowing way around and around this piece, by the branches, by the foliage in back, and by the strokes themselves. Cool!

great sunlit painting...I can feel the warmth and the cold at the same time.
