High Summer-Cattle Point

I painted this piece about three weeks ago out at
Cattle Point. It is quite evident in the painting that we
had a cool and cloudy day.
As is normal for this time of year the grasses have died
back and turned almost a golden white
here on the south island..
Oil on wood panel 9 x 12.
Comments welcomed.

Hi Jeffrey,

I was hoping to comment on your "Cowichan Lake Summer" piece, but there is no text by you below it and no comments link, so I'm commenting here.

You NAILED the light in that piece, really lovely feel. I wonder if you know the work of Zelda Nelson? The brushwork is really similar to hers. Well done!

Thanks Liz...I just got back from a short trip to Cowichan Lake. It is a very special place for me.

I have looked at Zelda's work many times online never in person.
