'Cattle Point Camas'

This years Camas bloom at Cattle Point is nothing

 short of spectacular. However due to the areas rocky terrain

and this weekends heat and drying winds it will very

quickly start the inevitable dying off.

The time of the Camas always seems

to take forever to start but so 

soon to end...

'Golden November'

About two years ago I painted a plein air piece that

I used as reference to paint this one.

I have always been enthralled with the drama of

a sunlight landscape against a dark sky.

Perhaps a series is in the offing...

'October-Cattle Point' **SOLD**(Canadian west coast Impressionism, Cattle Point, Oak Bay, fall colour, flu)

I managed to make it out on Wednesday this week for a

quick paint at Cattle Point on Oak Bay. I say quick because

after about 45 min. the wind and rain came up and had me

scurring to the vehicle, not quite quick enough however!

I have been battling a flu for the last week or so as well

as the weather which has been very unsettled,

very much like my illness,

lousy one day not bad the next. I'm really looking forward

to more of one and less of the other =;-))
(whine ...whine...whine...)

High Summer-Cattle Point

I painted this piece about three weeks ago out at

Cattle Point. It is quite evident in the painting that we

had a cool and cloudy day.

As is normal for this time of year the grasses have died

back and turned almost a golden white

here on the south island..

Cattle Point Camas

Our plein aire gang was out to Cattle Point this morning,

the camas lily's are in bloom as are other wildflowers.

I had my heart set on a lovely warm sunny day and

didn't allow the reality of clouds and

light showers to change that.

It is a wonderful spot for painting

and I will return for another go soon!
