'Gulf Island Morning'

This view of the Burgoyne Bay tidal flats was for many
years the front yard of several homes and a few squatters.
It would have been absolutely magical. Once the park
was declared the houses were removed though remnants
of the old gardens remain to spark the imagination of
those who wander here. The land rises behind you to
an old farm and its many lovely hay fields which are leased
to keep them agricultural. The old farm buildings that
remain are being restored as part of the park.
Of course before contact this was a very significant
location for the first peoples of this area.
Oil on canvas 30 x 36.

Thanks Prabha...I think that at times reality and fantasy can be one and same...allowing imagination to decide what is real in our vision and memory. Though this place exists the painting could be considered somewhat fantasy.
