'Moss Street Stroller'

I painted this piece while manning my site
last Saturday at the
Art Gallery of Greater Victoria's
'23rd Annual Moss St. Paint-In'
As usual the event is looked forward to by
art lovers and artist alike and is always
a huge success with as many as 35,000
spectators for the five and a half hour event!
This years event was no exception.
Across the street from my site I noticed a lovely
'Lavatera' in full bloom back lite in the morning
sun as I set up. Painting it later I added an imaginary
women strolling by, though, by then I could hardly
see the shrub for the crowds of onlookers.
Painting en plein air in a situation like that was to
say the very least, very challenging and
then I went and added a figure... jeeez!
During the show I was happily surprised to have
fellow 'daily painters .com' artist
David Roberts from Winnipeg drop by for a visit wow!
Oil on wood panel 12 x 9.
Thoughts and comments always appreciated!

I have included a few photo's of my site and the
fog rolling up the street toward us.
It made things quite cool for the next couple of hours

My site with my easel on the left!

More of my site.

The fog approaching the throng spectators!

Jeffrey I'm so impressed that you could even complete a painting amid the hustle and bustle of an event like this, let alone do it so well!

What a fun day it must have been! You've got some beautiful work exhibited and I hope you met lots of friendly, supportive people. Have you recovered from all of the excitement yet?!

The fog is lovely, too...

It is great fun but quite draining both physically and emotionally!
I'm good to go after a couple of days...usually...
