'Raked & Ready'

This piece was painted on a warm evening in early
July. These fields had been cut and raked for baling
the next day. I had been keeping a close watch on these
fields hoping to be there when they were being hayed.
I was lucky this year, as well, I was able to paint another
piece earlier in the afternoon at another location
while the tractor was mowing and filling the air with
that sweet scent of fresh cut hay.
Oil on wood panel 9 x 12.
Thoughts and comments always appreciated!

Lov the rolling ground in this, it has real movement. And the colours in September Gold are beautiful. Great work, Jeffrey.

Thanks Caroline...these are amazing fields and I can tell you they will inspire many more paintings! Sadly 'Urban Creep' is slowly pushing against this lovely scene...

Really like your brushwork. The movement and direction.

Hi again Jeffrey!... Love the meandering structure and summer colour in your hayfields!

You are absolutely right on the $$$ regarding the "urban crawl" thing. Sadly... in this part of the country, the crawl has galloped into a sprawl... that one can observe moving weekly! So sad!

Good Summertime Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce

Lovely painting, Jeffrey! You were lucky to get there at the right moment. Those fields have a soft and luscious feel to them and the atmosphere is so very clear and beautiful.

I hope you can document their beauty often.
