Saxe Point Shoreline

This was done en plein air this morning. The weather was
nothing short of stellar! Saxe Point is gem of a park here
in Esquimalt. The point faces South and the veiws from
almost anywhere near the shore are spectacular.
I am so fortunate that I have a veiw of these rocks and the
west side of the point from my studio, though of course they
are further away than in this painting. Transient Orcas, more
commonly known as Killer Whales, will sometimes hunt for
seals in close to the point.
Last week we were lucky to watch a pod of
three Orcas do just that, right from our studio window, wow!
Oil on board 11 x 14.
Comments are always appreciated!

"The warmth of the sun,
the cooling aspect of the breeze,
the smell of salt from the sea...
It's heaven on earth to have these comforting
embraces of nature that simply plead
to be released on canvas."

You continue to amaze me. These two paintings really capture the wildness of the environment. I can feel the cool wind coming off of the water in "Devonian-Winter."
It looks like sweater weather and time for a cup of tea in front of a fireplace!

Thanks Melinda! Sometimes nature is very close by. That cool weather is not far off now.
