Close To Me

Oh, oh...a self portrait...yikes.
Being primarily a landscape painter this was
quite a challenge, but it was a lot of fun.
No my teeth don't really look like that!
A joke I have often shared with another artist goes,
that your not a real painter until you have
done painting of a cow, a crow, a pear and a
self portrait, I guess I'm getting there.

Oil on board 6 x 6.
Comments always appreciated!

Yes, well done, Jeffrey. You are quite skilled at portraiture. Did you know this?! It's grand.

Hope you include more portraits when you are taking a short break from landscapes.

You're very brave. Self portraits are scary to consider. You've inspired me....but, well, I'd have to have a perfect day, perfect lighting and a perfect moment of confidence.

Thanks so much Melinda. Maybe I'll try more in the future...the latest model said he wasn't going to sit for me again anytime soon though!

Looking forward to your SP, Melinda!

Wow, so surprising! Very cool portrait. I agree with Melinda, Scary!! to do a self-portrait. My model refuses at the moment.
