On Friday morning our non group of plein air painters
were invited out to Frank Mitchell's farm to paint.
It was a magical morning filled with the
bleating of the farms newly born lambs and their
mothers. The farm is situated high on a
cliff overlooking the strait of Juan de Fuca and
the approach to Witty's Lagoon.
Two ancient Hemlock sisters caught my attention,
the way they will lean together always and the
striped car track leading toward the
farm buildings back in the trees.
Oil on canvas 12 x 9.

What wonderful trees and the dappled foreground just draws me into the painting.
Thanks Liz...it was a lovely morning!

You've captured the colors and feel of late winter/early spring with this one, Jeffrey. Wonderful brush work as always!
Hey thanks Linny!
