'Over the Edge',

(Canadian west coast Impressionism, Mount Maxwell, Saltspring Island, Turkey Vultures)

I spent a late afternoon painting up on Mount
Maxwell last September and took the reference
photo for this piece at that time. It was
such a magical early evening and quite thrilling
as we looked down on soaring Turkey vultures
and ravens while painting and photographing
the spectacular view. As I painted this the
memory of stillness, the lovely scent of
pine and the raven talk made me long
for a return trip sometime!
Oil on canvas 16 x 12.
Thoughts and comments always appreciated!

Gorgeous painting, wonderful location! I can hear the ravens speak and their words always fill my heart with calm. They say, nature continues! Nature finds a way! Trust that all will be well! I'm guessing, of course, but like to think this.

Your work here is spectacular. I hope you do get to go back soon. Any chance you'll paint this with snow on the mountain? Brrr.

What a spot! You convey the majesty of the cliff and great distance of the fields and mountains. I can hear the ravens as I look at this.
