Mute Swan **SOLD**

Although Mute swans have been introduced to
North America as park swans, our area has a
few that fly around as if wild. About
10 years ago we lived on a boat in West Bay Marina
across the harbour from Victoria. We were enjoying
a lazy afternoon on the dock when this grand
bird flew in and landed in the bay not far from the boat.
These birds are of course accustomed to being
fed by humans and so seeing us it wasn't long
till it was in camera range looking for
a possible handout.
They are incredibly beautiful birds.
Oil on board 8 x 10.

This is spectacular, Jeffrey. The close up of the swan, the shadow on its back, the sense of depth around the swan's head along with your beautiful rendering of the water, all work together in a masterful composition. You're really cookin' for such a cold winter!
