'Highrock Solstice'

On Winter's Eve afternoon I painted in a
favourite spot not far from the studio.
It felt good being out painting on that crisp
day as I welcomed the return of the light
and marveled once again at the
natural beauty so close to home.
Two Flickers spent some time observing
my progress sitting just above me
in a young Garry Oak.

Hi Jeffrey, well done for getting out there with the paints into the big out doors. So many of us have been a bit slow getting back into the studio, my husband goes back to work tomorrow so I will have more time to draw and paint again. Your painting is lovely, you find interesting subjects to paint and this old tree though bare without it's leaves has so much character and life. Looking forward to seeing more of your work as you venture outdoors. You are an inspiration to us all Jeffrey, Happy painting!

Thank you Caroline for that generous comment. The internet in general and the blogosphere in particular makes geographical distances irrelavant and the sharing of inspiration among artists and art lovers one of the most pleasing of benifts...
