'Evensong Hayfields'

(Canadian west coast Impressionism, hayfield's, evening clouds oil painting)

Not long from now haying time will begin again on the
south Island as it will in many other locations across the
country. It is a very special and nostalgic time for me.
When the scent of fresh mown hay fills the air it takes
me back in a rush to many different times of my past.
I hope to paint many hayfield's again this
year preferably en plein air.
Oil on canvas 30 x 40.

I can feel the nostalgia and the sense of place so well in this, Jeffrey. The golden light, the lyrical movement of the treeline, is like a prayer of gratitude for all that nature provides us--a true "evensong."

I enjoy seeing your brushwork. It gives a sculptural feel and movement.

Wonderful work, Jeffery! The style of this reminds me of some of the masterfully hand-painted Zuber wallpaper murals from the 1830's...with a modern twist. Love it!
