Lupins & Poppies

There is something special about wildflowers.
The way they grow wild and free, often in surprising places.
I really enjoy painting wildflowers as the main
subject in a landscape.
This one is an oil on canvas 20 x 16.

I have a yard full of lupins, one of my favourite flowers and poppies too, colours pop and make for an enjoyable "read".

Thanks Ron. They truly are a dramatic touch to the landscape.
They must look fantastic against all those old cars too!

One of the most spectacular sites is a field of lupine. Just breathtaking. We even brave the black fly season (they love my neck) in late June to do our two weeks in NS, so that I can see the lupines!
Plenty of bug spray!

I am so thankful that those little critters don't inhabit Victoria. I had my fill of them in Ontario!

Thanks for the comment, Mary.
