Trial from Above

Finally got out again with our plein air painting
non-group group (were not a group) yesterday.
The weather cooperated for the most part and the location
chosen was a wonderful little park overlooking
Trial Island, the strait of Juan de Fuca and
Washington's Olympic Mountains.
Very dramatic.
This painting was started out "there" and finished
in "here".
My fascination with clouds was in overdrive as we were
treated to an amazing show of spectacular
cummulization....hmmm(?)
Really, I took photo's!
Oil on canvas 9 x 12.
Comments welcomed.

Hi Jeffrey
You pulled off another good one. I like your painterly treatment and the fact that you allow each brush stroke to "live" un-blended, giving it a natural and individual place on the canvas. Look out Tom Thomson!

Thanks Ron for your kind words, very much appreciated.

Fun to see local scenery, beautifully done, jealous of the "plein air" program.

Thanks Ron. No need to be jealous, anyone who can put half a dozen odd-ball painters together that like to paint outside and have absolutley no ability to forecast weather can have a non-group group, too.
